DivorceCare for Kids

DC4K is a thirteen week faith-based program designed to help children grades 1-6 work through the hurt and confusion of divorce.

Many children in our city have been affected by divorce and struggle through it without a safe place to process through the emotions surrounding it.

DC4K combines games, crafts, activities, music, and DVD dramas to create a fun atmosphere where children feel comfortable and accepted.

They look forward to each time their DC4K "family" gets together. DivorceCare for Kids is structured to replicate a large family environment. Children from the same family are kept together because they often look to each other for security during the divorce experience.

Parents are encouraged to interact with their children through the week about what they’re learning. They will receive a weekly “Parent Page” describing what the child has learned and offering tips to strengthen the parent/child relationship, creating stronger bonds in the single parent family.

Our exceptional team of volunteers consider it a privilege to run the DC4K program.

They have worked for a number of years with families in crisis in our city but this program is the first opportunity they have had to combine their training and experience with their faith in Jesus Christ. The team’s passion is to teach kids that God loves all our families, and is there to help them walk through this difficult season of life.
